Chennaiyin vs Goa
Indian Super League
Date: Saturday, 6th October 2018
Kick-off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET/ 19:30 IST
Venue: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Chennai).
The reigning champions of ISL, Chennaiyin FC were not on song as they lost to Bengaluru FC in their season opener. The match was a replay of last season’s final at Bangalore, where Chennaiyin emerged winners.
But this year the tides have changed. Bengaluru capitalised on a costly mistake at the back by Chennaiyin and went on to win the game 1-0.
The travelling fans of Chennaiyin, the “Super Machans” and the team owner Abhishek Bachan were looking forward to start the season on a positive note.
The team bossed the possession during first half and had two chances to go ahead in the game. Jeje Lalpekhlua, one of the best strikers in the country, could not finish both opportunities.
Chennaiyin coach John Gregory, who led them to a second League title last season, is expected to replicate that again. The cunning tactician will have to lift his player’s morale to get them going in the upcoming matches.
Goa had to settle for a shocking draw against NorthEast United. Even the hardest Northeast supporters did not see that coming. Northeast scored early in the first half, owing to the mistake of the Goan keeper.
The Goans managed to pull 2 goals back in the first half and take the lead and kept good possession throughout the match. Northeast managed to level the score, early in the second half.
The star man for Goa was Ferran Corominas, who netted a brace. The Spanish striker, Coro as he is known, makes scoring look so easy. The possession for the Gaurs shows how their midfielders controlled the game.
The team from the west coast of India will be looking to get their first win as they travel to Chennai, this Saturday.

Chennaiyin vs Goa Prediction
Considering Coro’s striking prowess and blistering form he will be in the score sheet. He was the top scorer last season with 18 goals, including two hatricks. It seems he has not lost his touch this season on the basis of his performance against Northeast United FC.
Goals are on the card, as every meeting between these two teams saw goals, surplus in some games. Also taking the defensive issues of both teams into consideration, the forwards of both the sides will be eyeing to get some goals in this game.
