Cefn Druids AFC vs Trakai FK
UEFA – Europa League Preliminary Round
Date: Thursday, 28 June 2018
Kick-Off at 19:00 UK
Venue: Park Hall Stadium (Oswestry).
In the first leg match of the Europa League Preliminary round, Cefn Druids are going to host Trakai. The hosts earned their place in the Europa League after going through playoffs. They finished as 5th in the regular season after a very good finish in which they booked three wins in the last four rounds. Although Huw Griffiths’ side hasn’t been too productive, they were not too bad in the back in compare to other rivals. For the place in this competition, they defeated Cardiff Metropolitan in a narrow clash. This will be their second appearance in the continental competitions and six years ago they were eliminated by Finnish side MYPA in the first round.
Trakai are in the middle of their domestic campaign and they are currently sitting on the 3rd place. They haven’t been enjoying a good form lately as they managed to win just once in the last five occasions. Justinas Marazas and the lads have been involved in tight matches this season and the visitors have been playing pretty tight at away grouonds.
Cefn Druids vs Trakai: Head-to-head
These two sides haven’t met each other in the past and this one will be their first encounter.
Cefn Druids vs Trakai: Prediction
Cefn Druids are not one of the best Welsh clubs and they’ll have a very tough task to find their place in the next round. Last season, Trakai reached the 3rd qualifying round after eliminating Scottish side St Johnston and Norrkoping from Sweden, which are much more reputable clubs than their rivals. an away victory wouldn’t be a surprise here.
Both sides have been involved in tight matches lately and in this one we shouldn’t expect to see many goals. Maximum of two in this match should be realistic prediction.
