Cameroon posted a comfortable 2-0 win in their opening fixture against Guinea Bissau and will be hoping to record back to back group stage victories when they take on Ghana in the second round of group fixtures.
Clarence Seedorf’s squad were certainly the better of the two sides in their last match and finished the first half with eight attempts on goal out of which two efforts almost made it into the back of the net. They finally broke the deadlock, twenty minutes after the restart, through Yaya Banana who met Ekambi’s delivery from the corner kick with his head to open the scoring.
They soon doubled their lead with Stephane Bahoken’s right-footed strike from close range after the defense failed to pick him up in the penalty area.
Ghana were held to a disappointing draw in their opening match against Benin, with the score reading 2-2 at the end of the ninety minutes. The latter took the initial lead two minutes after the kick-off through Mickael Pote who took a shot with his favored right foot and slotted it into the back of the net.
However, James Kwesi Appiah’s men cut the deficit soon enough with Andre Ayew who beat the goalkeeper by squeezing the ball into the bottom right corner. Despite Jordan Ayew putting his side into the lead in the 42nd minute, their opponents started the second half on a much stronger note and leveled the scores within twenty minutes from the restart through Pote again.
The team are now second in the table with one point, trailing behind their counterparts Cameroon, who are at the helm with three.

Both the squads are without a loss in their last two games. However, Appiah’s men managed just a draw in their last two fixtures, while their counterparts grabbed a clear win in their previous game.
The opening group clash saw both the teams scoring two goals apiece, which certainly points to the squads having a lot of firepower under their hood. We can definitely expect both the teams to find the back of the net at least once in the ninety minutes, while the win is likely to swing in favor of Cameroon.
