Bulgaria vs Kosovo Predictions and Match Preview

Bulgaria vs Kosovo
EURO 2020 Qualification
Date: Monday, 10th June 2019
Kick-off at 19.45 UK/ 20.45 CET
Venue: Nacionalen Stadion Vasil Levski (Sofia).

These two teams already locked horns once in the second round of the qualification tournament. At Kosovo’s home then, the squads played to a 1-1 draw. Bulgaria played a bit naughty as the ref had to lift yellow for them four times by the 50th minute of game time.

The objective to rile up the hosts sure did work though, as Bulgaria found the net in the first half to go 0-1 up. It was a tricky situation for the home team to navigate.

But two quick substitutions at the hour-mark brought the tie to their control, and scores were leveled. After that, though both sides tried their best to take the three points on offer, either defense stood strong.

As of now, Bulgaria holds the second spot in the group, just below England. But it needs to be mentioned that England has already gotten a four-point lead over them, with just two match-days over. Kosovo sits just below with a solitary point at the third position.

With England in the mix, the fight will be between these two for the remaining spot on offer.

Bulgaria vs Kosovo Head-to-head (h2h)

  • These two teams have fought each other just once.
  • The game came in this same tournament.
  • The reverse fixture of this tie saw either team side splitting the points, with a 1-1 scoreline.
  • As such, both hold an unbeaten record against each other.

Bulgaria vs Kosovo Prediction

The home advantage will greatly provide some leeway for Bulgaria. In the last four years, the team has lost just once in front of their home fans. Their general nature also shows an aversion to losses, that they are unbeaten in their last four fixtures.

Their offense is also on a scoring streak with them finding the back of the net in eight of their last nine matches. The team did dominate in the reverse fixture as they led the scoreline from the latter stages of the first half, but couldn’t hold on till the end though.

Another thing that gives them hope is Kosovo’s away form. While they have been on a roll in their last few matches, their games on the road paint a different picture. Kosovo has returned just two wins from their last ten ties on the road.

So, do count on Bulgaria to come out on top, but taking into account the fact that Kosovo has scored in 11 of their last 12 games, Bulgaria will find it hard to present a clean sheet.
