Boreham Wood vs Chesterfield
England – National League
Date: Tuesday, 4 September 2018
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK
Venue: Meadow Park (Borehamwood).
Boreham Wood and Chesterfield are going to face each other in the ninth round of the English National League.
The hosts failed to win the promotion last time as they were defeated in the playoff finals by Tranmere. They finished as fourth in the last season and they’ve been playing very disciplined football. Home side hasn’t opened the campaign as per their expectations, but in the last three rounds they started raising the level of their performances. Angelo Balanta and the lads picked up seven points in that period and improved their attacking work which was not too convincing. Boreham Wood still haven’t lost the game when playing in front of the home crowd and they’re hoping of keeping a good run.
After being relegated from the League Two last season as the bottom placed side, Chesterfield were hoping of an express comeback. However, after the opening three victories, the visitors failed into a big results crisis as they haven’t managed to snatch a single point from the last five matches. Martin Allen’s side hasn’t been too bad in the back, but they’ll need to start scoring more frequently. The visitors managed to book an away victory in their first trip of the season, but since then they’ve been booking nothing but defeats.
Boreham Wood v Chesterfield: Head-to-head
This is going to be the first occasions for these two sides to face each other. Home side hasn’t gone up from this level of the competition, while the visitors have been stable participants in the professional leagues until the last season.
Boreham Wood v Chesterfield: Prediction
This one is very tricky to predict as the visitors will be looking for the improvement. However, Boreham Wood raised their form recently and they should be able to catch up the top half of the table by winning all three points in this one
The hosts are playing pretty tight and although they haven’t been too efficient, their defence is doing a good job. Chesterfield have also been involved in low scoring matches and in this one the crowd shouldn’t be able to see more than two goals.
