Bolton vs Swansea
Date: Saturday, 10 November 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET
Venue: Macron Stadium (Bolton).
The newly-relegated Swansea will travel to Greater Manchester for a clash against the Whites this Saturday.
The Wanderers are having a poor season in the Championship. They are possibly going to repeat the same performance as last time when they avoided relegation out of luck. With 4 wins and 8 defeats, they are 20th in the table at present.
They have conceded twice the amount of goals they scored in the competition. In the 16 matches, they played a total of 11 goals was scored and 22 was conceded by the Whites.
At present they are without a win in 6 straight games and this includes 5 defeats of which 3 came in succession. The only win in previous 10 matches was a shocker at home against Derby on round 10.
Another problem for the Trotters is their attacking intent. The team has failed to hit the target now in 3 consecutive matches. In the last 6 matches, they have only 1 goal which came against Rotherham.
They are on a 3 game losing streak at home and has lost 4 of their last 5 games played in front of their home crowd.
Meanwhile, Swansea is having a bad away season. They are winless in last 5 away matches in the Championship. After relegation, they have a massive decline in confidence and manager Graham Potter has managed to get his team to the 9th spot in the table.
The Swans have 6 wins and 5 losses in their matches so far and they also tend to draw more games. In their recent 6 matches in the Championship, they lost 3 and won 2. Three of those matches had a score with over 2.5 goals scored in total.
Even though they have been poor on the road, most of their games were close and 3 matches of those 8 away games were goalless draws. If they play with that same spirit in this game they may have a win after some time in away fixtures.
Bolton vs Swansea: Head-to-head (h2h)
- In 3 h2h matches both the teams have one win each.
- Over 2.5 goals were scored in total on 2 of those games.
- Swansea is winless in the 2 h2h matches at the home of the Wanderers, which includes a defeat also.
Bolton vs Swansea: Prediction
If we look at h2h stats, both the teams have scored in last 3 h2h matches across all venues. But with the home side not finding goals in their last 3 home matches I don’t see them scoring here either. There won’t be many goals in this match, because in 8 of the last 9 games that Bolton played the score was under 2.5 goals. The away side follows the same trend in 4 of their last 5 games on the road. So we can bet on this game to have a score with under 2.5 goals with 1.74 odd.
There is ample chance that this match may end as a draw too. But Swansea, even though they have no wins in last 5 away matches have been playing better football and all their recent results were tight. Also, Bolton has been losing at both half time and full time in 5 of the last 6 home matches and a total of 8 times in 16 matches. So we can bet on Swansea to win at both half time and full time with 3.60 odd.
