Bohemians vs Limerick Match Preview and Predictions

Bohemians vs Limerick
Republic of Ireland – Premier Division
Date: Friday, 3 August 2018
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Dalymount Park, Dublin.

The Super Blues grabbed a massive survival lifeline by seeing off Waterford 2-1 at home last Friday. The victory over the third-placed side helped the team catch up with Bohemians and Sligo Rovers in the battle for avoiding the relegation and it certainly served as a massive confidence booster ahead of the trip to Dalymount Park and the clash with the Bohs on Friday evening.

Tommy Barrett’s men showed a huge character to overcome a nightmare start to the clash with the Blues. Midfielder Eoin Wearen was sent off just three minutes into the game as everyone expected Waterford to cruise past the struggling opposition.

Everyone but Barrett and the remaining 10 players on the court as Limerick showed a fantastic team chemistry to pick up a huge victory thanks to goals from Billy Dennehy (penalty) and Shane Duggan.

Bohemians vs Limerick: Head-to-head

  • The draw was the most common of the outcomes in the most recent history of head to head games between these two outfits.
  • It happened in each of last three head to head games, none of which saw three or more goals.
  • Only one of last six brought more than two goals.
  • Limerick are undefeated in last five matches against the Bohs (two wins and three draws).

Bohemians vs Limerick: Prediction

The Bohs have had a rollercoaster campaign so far in the season. Their for saw way too many ups and downs which is why one can hardly rely on them to win. This makes question the value of the 1.55 odds offered by the bookies for the home win bet here, especially if we know that the visitors will head into the game higher on confidence after beating Waterford last time out.

Bohemians did see off Bray Wanderers 6-0 in the previous home tie two weeks ago, but they won just one of eight games at Dalymount Park before such victory.

Knowing also that each of last three H2H games ended without a winner and that the Super Blues are undefeated in last five meetings with the Bohs, we have to try with the draw or away win double chance at the 2.40 odds.
