Benin vs Cameroon
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Tuesday, 2 July 2019
Kick off at 17:00 UK / 18:00 CET
Venue: Ismailia Stadium.
With just one game remaining in the group stage, the clash on Tuesday is a make or break situation for both Benin and Cameroon as they will need the crucial three points to seal their tickets to the quarterfinal of the tournament.
Benin were held to a draw in their last two group fixtures, with the most recent one against Guinea Bissau ending in a disappointing stale mate. The squad certainly enjoyed the better possession of the ball on both occasions but failed miserably when it came to convert it into a match winning advantage.
Michael Pote grabbed a brace for his side in the opening fixture but was unable to recreate a similar performance in their last clash. His team managed two shots on target in that game but were thwarted each time by the opposing defence.
Cameroon tasted success in their opening clash with Guinea Bissau but were held to goalless draw in their previous encounter with Ghana. The team had the major share of possession but like their counterparts for Tuesday, their attacking line up just failed to make it count. Despite making fifteen attempts at goal, they could not get more than two shots to be on target.
Cameroon are the only ones with a win in Group F, and their sole win has been enough, up till now, to keep them at the helm of the group. However, a loss against Benin in the upcoming fixture could turn the tables on them.

Benin vs Cameroon Prediction
Cameroon look poised to take the win against Benin, in what will be their last group clash of the campaign.
The fact that Cameroon have kept a clean sheet in their last two group fixtures, is certainly a token of their defensive capabilities. The squad have also been successful in keeping the ball out of their opponents grasp for the major part of those games, which certainly means that Michel Dussuyer’s men will have a tough time finding the back of the net on Tuesday.
Despite the latter taking the lead in their opening clash, they conceded two goals in the first half and were subsequently held to a draw at the end of the ninety minutes.
The squad just do not seem good enough to find a way past the rock-solid defence that Clarence Seedorf’s men have built to protect their goal line and are almost certain to finish the game without a goal to their name.
The clash is certain to be a low scoring one with the win swinging in favour of Cameroon at the last blast of the whistle.
