Belgium vs Scotland Predictions & Match Preview

Belgium vs Scotland
Euro 2020 Qualification
Date: Tuesday 11th June 2019
Kick off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: King Baudouin Stadium (Brussels).

One of the best attacking sides in football today, Belgium will start as favourites to beat Scotland in this game in Belgium.

In Group I as expected Belgium have been very strong and have won all of their opening 3 games to top the group on 9 points. They are in very good confidence and will relish to play Scotland who usually let attacking teams play.

Belgium’s last loss came against Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League in a game that ended up 5-2. But in truth this is the competition that the nation who finished 3rd at last summers World Cup will be taking seriously.

Scotland have won 2 games in a row coming into this game but the opposition has been Cyprus and San Marino. They made heavy weather of San Marino too only winning the game 2-0 and the feeling is that Scotland are lacking confidence.

Still it will be fascinating to see the duel between the excellent Eden Hazard and Scotland and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson who has had an excellent season in defence.

Belgium vs Scotland: Head to Head

The last time the nations played was in 2018 when Belgium won 4-0.

Belgium have won the last 3 meetings scoring 8 goals and conceding none.

Belgium vs Scotland: Prediction

Scotland aren’t without some quality and will have some chances but we expect this game to be very one sided and will back the home win. The only problem is that the odds are around 1/9 so offer no value at all.

Instead let’s concentrate on the goals market. We think the home side can score a few and cause many problems with their attacking players such as Hazard and Romelu Lukaku. Scotland just don’t have the quality to compete especially when away from home.

Belgium vs Scotland: Bet Tips:

  • Over 2.5 goals at 1.50 (1/2)
  • Anytime goal-scorer: Romelu Lukaku at 1.72 (8/11).
