BATE vs Qarabag
UEFA Champions League Third Round 2nd Leg
Date: Tuesday, 14 August 2018
Kick-Off at 18:00 UK
Venue: Borisov Arena (Borisov).
- First Leg Result: 1-0 win for BATE
BATE are looking forward to securing their place in the playoffs of the Champions League qualifiers at home against Qarabag.
The hosts are in the middle of their domestic season and they are pretty confident in the national championship as they are sitting on the top spot. They are seven points ahead of Dinamo Minsk, however they played one game more than their rivals.
Nikolay Signevich and the lads have already eliminated HJK from the competition although they were held to a goalless draw at home ground. Home side has put a very good performance in the first leg clash and they have an advantage from the trip to Qarabag.
The visitors stated their journey from the first round of the qualifiers and they managed to eliminate Olimpija Ljubljana and Kukesi on the way. Although they haven’t conceded a single goal in those four clashes, they were not too convincing.
They are still about to start the domestic league and these qualifiers are currently in their full focus. Except in the clash against Kukesi at home, Gurban Gurbanov’s side has been involved in low scoring clashes.
BATE vs Qarabag: Head-to-head
Last week’s clash was the only opportunity for these two sides to face each other and in that game BATE managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory and put themselves in the commanding position in the build-up for the second leg.
BATE vs Qarabag: Prediction
Although Qarabag could pose some troubles to the hosts, BATE should secure a positive result in this one and advance to the final round of these qualifiers. We believe the hosts should be able to celebrate another win over their rivals.
Both sides have been involved in low scoring matches lately and this one shouldn’t be much different. Away side have some troubles in finding the back of the oppositions’ net, while the hosts don’t need to chase the result.
