FC Basel vs PSV Eindhoven
Champions League Qualifying
Date: Tuesday 30th July 2019
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: St Jakob Park.
This should be a cracking game against two teams who have experience proper Champions League football before, Basel and PSV. In a thrilling first leg game PSV came out on top and won 3-2 in a five-goal thriller and a lot of chances, goals and excitement is predicted for this game.
As expected, the betting is really open although Basel are just shading it as the favourites and can be backed at around 2.50 (6/4) to win the game.
The Swiss super league has already started, and Basel did not get off to a good start where they lost the game 2-1. Although the week before they did beat Sion 4-1.
PSV have only won 2 games from their last five and have not had a great pre-season, but they are tending to win the most important games. Interestingly their last six games have all come at home, and so playing away is not something the club have been used to doing for a few months, this could be a big disadvantage for them.
Basel vs PSV Eindhoven: Head to Head
There have only been 2 recent matches between the two teams. Last week in the 1st leg which ended 3-2 to PSV and in a friendly in 2015 where the match ended in the same score line of 3-2 but to Basel, who were at home.
Basel vs PSV Eindhoven: Prediction
Basel are a strong team at home and we think they can win this match. But it might be very close. What we have to remember is that the 1st leg was heading for a 2-2 result with PSV scoring the winner in injury time. Also PSV have not been on the road for some time, all of this adds up for us as a home win and we will be backing Basel who will have a very strong home support for this game.
Basel vs PSV Eindhoven: Bet Tips
Basel to beat PSV at 2.50 (6/4).
