FC Basel vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Date: Thursday, 6 August 2020
Kick-off at 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET
Venue: St. Jakob-Park.
The Eagles were the favorites coming into this two-legged tie, bit all hopes for them was cast out by the time the first leg came to an end. Despite coming from an inferior Swiss league, Bebbi registered a dominating and unexpected win on the road, and now just need to come through this home fixture.
Adi Hutter’s men really have been through a lot this season. After a series of terrible performances, they did manage to get their act together towards the end of the campaign. However, it was a bit too late. They had to settle for a ninth-place finish, which ultimately ruled them out of the Europa League.
And on top of that, they have a mountain to climb in order to make it to the Quarters.
Meanwhile, Marcel Koller’s men have been the best team in Switzerland for the past several years along with Young Boys, and this time around, they have qualified for the Champions League.
As things stand, expect Basel to make the most of their away goals, and progress to the next round.

Basel vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Prediction
Bebbi had won the first leg with a 0-3 scorecard on the road. It was totally a dominating performance from the guests, especially towards the end.
Now, the Eagles have too much of a hurdle to climb through, as they have to score a minimum of three goals to even think of taking the match to extra time, and that too while keeping a clean sheet.
Goin go, Koller’s men were unbeaten in 14 of their last 17 overall matches, and are currently unbeaten in their past five fixtures. And keep note that they had scored a total of 18 goals from these six games.
On the other hand, their opposite number were winless in four of their last seven overall fixtures, and one of their wins in the stretch had come against Paderborn – the dead-last placed and relegated team from the Bundesliga.
By the looks of things, it’s thought that Frankfurt are under no condition to overturn a three-goal deficit, and expect Basel to make the trip to the Quarters of the Europa.
