International Friendlies
Date: Saturday, 17 November 2018
Kick-Off at 08:50 UK / 09:50 CET
Venue: Suncorp Stadium (Brisbane).

Korea Republic will be hoping to maintain the fine five-game unbeaten run on Saturday when they travel to Brisbane to take on Australia in a friendly at Suncorp Stadium. It will be quite a big challenge for the visitors who come into this in a significantly weakened line-up.

Paulo Bento won’t be able to count on his star man Son Heung-min. The Portuguese manager will also be without influential likes of Lee Jae-sung, Ji Dong-won, Lee Keun-ho, Ki Sung-yueng and Kwon Chang-hoon. They will all skip last two games of the year against Australia and Uzbekistan. Bento’s attacking options will thus be very limited as he has just two forwards in the squad (Gamba Osaka’s Hwang Ui-jo and Reims’ Suk Hyun-juk).

Korea Republic generally did well in the final third in October’s affairs against Uruguay (a 2-1 win) and Panama (a 2-2 draw). We doubt they will maintain such fine record and score two or more goals against Socceroos on their soil.

Australia vs Korea Republic: Head-to-head

Taegeuk Warriors have a positive record in head to head matches against Australia.

They won three, drew two and lost two of last seven meetings with Socceroos.

Four of past six head to head games saw goals scored at both ends.

Australia vs Korea Republic: Prediction

The hoists played only one friendly since the group stage exit at the World Cup. They demolished Kuwait 0-4 on the road a month ago. Apostolis Giannou, Tom Rogic and Awer Mabil were among goalscorers on the occasion.

Graham Arnold will almost have all first team regulars on disposal here which is why we find a nice value in backing the home win at the odds of 1.95 here. The likes of Tom Rogic, Aaron Mooy, Massimo Luongo and Jackson Irvine should control happenings at the center of the park and guide their team towards the second consecutive win n friendlies.

Australia vs Korea Republic: Bet Tips

  • Australia to win 1.95 (19/20)
  • Australia Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 2.20 (6/5).
