Atalanta will host German Hertha BSC on Saturday evening aiming to maintain the thrilling attacking form from past two friendlies which saw them bag as many as ten goals. The opposition will, however, be much tougher now and matching such impressive attacking showings will be a very tough task for Gianpiero Gasperini’s side.
The visitors were also pretty impressive up front so far in the off-season, but head coach Pal Dardai will be worried after Hertha shipped two goals in a 3- 2 win over Czech outfit Dukla Prague last Friday. The Hungarian manager knows his team’s defensive line will be under a huge pressure against Atalanta who came seventh at the end of the Serie A season in the previous term.
The two teams did not have the opportunity to play each other before.
Gasperini now has an exciting attacking line-up as Duvan Zapata joined Atalanta from Sampdoria this summer. The Ecuadorian forward was one of goal-scorers in the 6-1 thumping of Swiss Chiasso on Sunday. Argentinian midfielder Alejandro Gomez bagged a first-half brace, while goals also came from Mancini, Hateboer and De Roon.
Veteran striker Vedad Ibisevic looks to be enjoying a fine spell of form in the pre-season. He was the one who opened the scoring against Dukla Prague, while his attacking partner Davie Selke doubled the lead before the Czech side got back on level terms with two quick goals. Nonetheless, Chlumecky’s own goal gave Hertha the third victory of the pre-season (first two came against amateur sides of RSV Eintracht and MSV 1919 Neuruppin.
Based on everything written above, we just have to go for goals here. Over 2.5 goals FT is the top betting suggestion, while you should not make a mistake backing goals at both ends either. As for the outcome, we’ll stick to the hosts as Hertha showed the lack of meticulousness at the back in the mentioned victory over Dukla Prague.
