Angola vs Mali
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Tuesday, 2 July 2019
Kick off at 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET
Venue: Ismaïlia Stadium (Ismaïlia).
Mali have been consistent in getting their names on the score sheet, which means, Angola must start to take their chances well in front of goal if they are to progress past the group stages.
With 2 points from 2 games, the team managed by Srdjan Vasiljevic still have a shot at second spot in the group. But a realistic target will be third placed finish with Tunisia locked on same points going against Mauritania.
Angola are yet to register their first win of the campaign, having drawn against both Tunisia and Mauritania. The squad finished both the games with better possession on the ball and more shots on target than their respective counterparts. However, they have failed to reflect those statistics on the score sheet which has consigned the Palancas Negras to just two points out of two games.
Despite the squad finishing their last match with slightly lesser possession of the ball than their opponents, they did manage a total of nine attempts at goal, out of which three were on target.
On the other hand, Mali are the only team in Group F to boast of a win and are rightly on top of the table with four points to their name.
Mohammed Magassouba’s men opened their campaign on a very positive note, having thrashed Mauritania by a whopping 4-1 scoreline. Their second round fixture against Tunisia saw them play out a much tougher ninety minutes, with the game subsequently finishing in a 1-1 draw.
However, 4 points in the bag and both Angola and Tunisia at 2 points drift, Mali need to win here to qualify as group leaders. At the same time, a defeat could relegate them to third spot, but the current point will be enough to send them through to the knockouts.

Angola vs Mali Prediction
Mohammed Magassouba’s side are certainly the favorites to come out on top in the clash with Angola in their final group stage game.
A total of five different players have gotten their names on the score sheet, for his side, in their last two games and it certainly does not look they have any intentions of slowing down. The team have been very active up front, and have not failed to find the back of the net in any of their group stage games so far.
With just one clean sheet in their last two games, their counterparts do not look capable of keeping Magassouba’s men at bay for the entire ninety minutes.
Three out of the last five goals for Les Aigles have come in the latter forty-five minutes, which certainly shows that they are keen to start on a stronger note following the restart.
We can certainly bet on them to find at least a goal, if not more, in the second half of the game and subsequently the win under their belt at the end of the ninety minutes.
