But instead of bowing out with disappointment, Ibrahimovic now has the chance to play one last international tournament in France next summer. Zlatan Ibrahimovic grabbed a brace at Denmark to send Sweden into the finals of the tournament next year.

The next year’s Euro tournament seems to be Zlatan’s final international appearance for his country home Sweden, but he has sent a clear message to Danish fans who thought Denmark will defeat Sweden and send Zlatan in an early retirement after Tuesday’s playoff

“There was the thought that this would send me into retirement. I sent their entire country into retirement,” he told Sweden’s Kanal 5.

He further said he could not describe how it felt to be among the qualified candidates, before he went on to fire words to his critics.

“All of the chat before, and we took ourselves to the playoffs,” he said “Many were disappointed with that, but we still had chance.”

“We knew what we wanted: the people who wanted to go to the European Championships most would get there, and that was us.”

The Swedish striker hinted that the Euro 2016 tournament next summer will be his last tournament on the international stage.

“Its destiny that i get the chance to finish at the European Championships,” he said. “A lot of people complain that i’m old and weak, but it doesn’t look like that.”

Ibrahimovic’s brace sent Danish coach and their defender into retirement contrary to what the Danish fans wished him.

Marcus Berg credited the PSG striker for helping his team qualify for the tournament.

“How much do we owe to Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Of course a lot, but we are a team and everyone works really hard,” he said. “Of course it’s a blessing that we can have him in front to score these important goals. He’s really important but everyone did a massive job today.”

After a 15 minutes into the game which Sweden looked like they were outclassed by Denmark, Zlatan stepped up and scored a sensational 61st goal for his dear country, giving them the lead, and his second strike in the 74th minute was more Magical than the first, thus deflating the Denmark and giving them no hope of coming back into the game.

Have previously failed to score against Denmark, Zlatan grabbed a brace to push Sweden ahead of Denmark in A 3-1 aggregate and gave Sweden the qualification spot.
