One of the most interesting clashes in the 25th round of Russian Premier League is going to take place on Saturday afternoon when Zenit is hosting Krasnodar. It is going to be a direct clash of the two Champions League spot contenders.
Roberto Mancini’s side is currently 4th placed team in the competition and they are only one point behind CSKA Moscow. Although they’ve been defeated only three times this season, high number of draws kept them away from the title battle. The hosts used to be much more efficient in the previous seasons, however they have the tightest defence which allowed only 14 goas so far. They’ve been pretty good at home, where they have not been defeated in the last three occasions. They need to maintain their unbeatable run if they want to finish in the top three.
The visitors are only a point behind their rivals on the 5th place, but in the last three matches they haven’t been able to snatch a victory. Fyodor Smolov is having another successful season and he has already scored 12 league goals. After this winless run, Krasnodar have sacked their head coach and, in this period, the former coach assistant will lead their games. Away side has been excellent when playing away from home since they’ve booked seven victories and only three defeats.
