Young Boys vs Red Star Belgrade
Champions League Qualification
Date: Wednesday, 21 August 2019
Kick-off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Stade de Suisse (Bern).
Young Boys have retained their status as the dominant force in Swiss Super League with eight games left to play. They continued where they left off, and after four opening rounds of the new season they’re sitting at the very top with three wins and a draw.
Couple of important players have left the team, but new signings look promising and Gerardo Seoane’s men are once again clear favorites to win 3rd title in a row.
Red Star have successfully eliminated Danish champions FC Copenhagen on penalties, after 210 minutes of football failed to produce a winner. FCK was easy to read, easy to contain, even when Red Star went down to 10 men.
The ‘Red and White’ were a better team over two legs, in my opinion, and they deserved to progress. The Saturday’s 3-2 win over Spartak Subotica means they still have 100% record in the Serbian Super League – 4 out of 4, with the goal difference of 9:2.

Young Boys vs Red Star Belgrade: Prediction
The Swiss Champions have improved so much over the years, their project is clearly working and they have managed not only to dethrone Basel, but also to properly smash them on multiple occasions.
Last season they were scoring 2.75 goals per game in the Swiss league and fought well in the CL Group Stages, even managed to surprise Juventus at home and win the game 2 to 1.
Red Star will be hoping to get back to Champions League which would help them immensely in their efforts to reduce club debt. They’re in for a much faster game than the one they played in Denmark, not only due to Young Boys’ style of play, but also because of artificial turf they have installed at Stade de Suisse. That favours technical players so we should expect another good performance from their midfield maestro, Marko Marin.
Young Boys are a force to be reckoned with nowadays and I see them winning this game, but I wouldn’t trust them to keep a clean sheet in the process, hence the BTTS-YES as an alternative bet.
