The season has just run out with club’s interesting positions on various league tables. Some players fared well in their respective clubs both in domestic and European competitions. Many players had bright season and helped their clubs to least cement a better position in league standings.
And there are some superb performers, whose contracts are due to expire this summer and are willing to leave for another club for different taste of atmosphere. Here we look at the ‘Top Five Players’ who will be available as a free agent and can make a stellar impact at any club next season.
1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Striker)
Ibrahimovic is undoubtedly one of the best forwards in this era and his has netted 48 times for French Ligue 1 side PSG in all competitions this term. And he is ranked 6 in LeagueLane’s most influential strikers this season.
Despite being 34 years old, he is still an influential figure to count on when the going got tough. Since the 2011/12 season, Ibrahimovic has never scored below 30 goals per season for any club he has played for.
He’s played more than five top Clubs in different leagues namely; Eredivisie-Ajax, Serie A-Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan, La Liga- Barcelona and French Ligue 1-PSG.
A bandit striker of his calibre is capable of fitting the lines of any Club at all and he has announced that there is no way he will extend his contract for current club PSG as his contract ends this summer. As he’s plied many Leagues cross Europe, only the Premier League he has never dare to venture apart from Academy football at Arsenal. Clubs stand a big chance to grab him especially English teams.
But Jose Mourinho now at Manchester United, won’t waste time to sign Zlatan Ibrahimaovic.
2. Michael Carrick (Defensive Midfielder)
I can’t overlooked Carrick because the lad still has a lot in his boots to offer, He’s been phenomenal for Man United in the past and still functions well at midfield, since making his switch to Old Trafford from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006.
The England international was sidelined in some games due to injuries this season. But he is not well known as injury prone, in view of that he’s made 28 appearances and substituted eight times, playing 1975 minutes and pass accuracy of 85% for United in all competitions this season.
He came on the pitch prior to United’s last league game against Bournemouth on Tuesday with his children after the club hierarchy have not sat down to discuss his future. His contract ends this summer and clubs can picked him up for experience and yet to die qualities.
3. Hatem Ben Arfa (Winger)
His career was about to die in England at both Newcastle and Hull City following his move from Olympique Marsaille, but he has revamped himself after he touched down at Nice.
His brilliant performances this season has helped him finish the season with 18 goals for the Ligue One side. The 29 year old is a versatile player with strong dribbling and finishing abilities and can be used as a winger, offensive midfielder or a forward. His contract will be out this summer and Barcelona have him on their radar. He is currently ruling out a move to the Catalan side, but a move elsewhere will be highly welcomed.
4. Patrick Evra (Left-back)
Yes call him an old folk of 34 year-old but what about his experience? Evra move from Man United to Juventus after he fell under the perking order at United but his stay at Juventus has not been disappointing.
It’s was a bit easy for him to replace Kwadwo Asamoah at full-back and stared Juventus to Champions League final- which they lost 3-1 to Barcelona, followed by a complete domestic double last season, and won the Serie A this term. The France international played 33 games in all comes with two goals to his name and rated 70% by Whoscored.com and has his name in Didier Deschamps’ 26 provisional man squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 tournament.
5. Sofiane Feghouli (Midfielder)
A 26-year-old Algeria international who can play anywhere in the attacking third, can be also used as center-half due to his strong defensive qualities. He is a good passing abilities and reads the game well from afar. He’s made more than 30 appearance for Valencia in all Competitions this season and his contract comes to an end in June this year.
With reference to the above mentioned players whose contract ends this summer clubs seeking to augment their squad can snap any of them up in the heat up transfer season.
