West Ham United vs Watford
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 10 February 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: London Stadium (London).
West Ham United will be looking to return on the winning ways and move lock on points with Saturday’s counterparts Watford when they host the Hornets at London Stadium. David Moyes has introduced a bit of a fighting spirit into the Hammers who have even broken the top half at one point. Nonetheless, the old defensive woes seem to be popping up once again as the lack of meticulousness at the back has caused the streak of four straight games without a win for them.
The latest of the failures happened seven days ago when West Ham shipped three goals in a defeat to the recently-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion in Falmer. The Hammers have not kept a single clean sheet in last four league games at home either even though the opposition included the likes of West Bromwich Albion, AFC Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.
Given that Watford will come into this right off the back of a superb attacking performance against a ten-man Chelsea on Monday, we can hardly expect the end of a dreadful series for David Moyes and his men here. Even though Tiemoue Bakayoko was sent off in the first half, we just have to respect the fact the Hornets netted four past the reigning champions. Barcelona’s acquisition Gerard Deulofeu has notched a screamer in his second appearance and we feel he should have plenty of space to show off his immense talent against the struggling defense of West Ham’s here.
West Ham United vs Watford: Head-to-head
Overall, it’s West Ham who have had more success in the history of head to head meetings with Watford.
Nonetheless, the most recent history belongs to the Hornets who have won two and drawn one of last three ties with the Hammers.
Watford’s 2-0 win from mid-November has terminated the three-BTTS-game run.
West Ham United vs Watford: Prediction
This one promises goals as neither of the two managers has reasons to praise their defensive lines.
Over 2.5 goals FT looks like a smart choice at 1.95, while the value is clearly with Watford to net two or more at 2.50.
As for the outcome, we’d go with Watford not to lose at decent 1.55 odds.
