West Brom vs Millwall
Date: Saturday, 22 September 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: The Hawthorns (West Bromwich).
WBA will have a nice opportunity to keep the hot run of form going on Saturday when they take on the struggling Millwall side at The Hawthorns. The Baggies notched as many as four goals past Bristol City on Tuesday evening making it three wins and a draw in last four games in all competitions.
The hosts sit fourth after eight rounds and they are clearly targeting an immediate return to the top flight football.
The Lions, who just missed out on the play-offs spots last term, started off in a completely opposite shape. They sit at a disappointing 21st place in the league ladder, with just one victory and four losses in eight rounds so far.
Their form has hit a massive stumbling block of late as Neil Harris’ side lost four and drew one of last five in Championship.
West Brom vs Millwall: Head-to-head
It’s been 14 long years since these two likes last took on each other.
It is hard to separate them based on the head to head record in 10 games as Millwall won 4, lost 3 and drew 3 along the way.
Nevertheless, we have to fancy WBA because of the fact they won 3, drew 1 and lost just 1 of five home games against the Lions.
West Brom vs Millwall: Prediction
Darren Moore has an exceptional attacking line-up led by the likes of Jay Rodriguez, Dwight Gayle and Hal Robson-Kanu. They’ve combined the total of 12 goals so far in the season. Rodriguez has been the most lethal of all so far, with six goals to his name. Gayle added four, including one in the mid-week’s victory over the Robins.
Millwall’s defensive line will thus be under a huge pressure here. The visitors shipped five goals in last three league outings and we just can’t imagine a scenario which would see them pick up a result here at the Hawthorns.
The home win can be regarded as a banker at the 1.72 odds, while you can alternatively shoot for Jay Rodriguez to keep his stellar form going and score anytime at 2.40. He bagged a brace past Bristol City on Tuesday.
