Watford vs West Ham
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 24 August 2019
Kick-off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET
Venue: Vicarage Road (Watford).
These two were involved in the race for the seventh spot in the league table last time around, which afforded the final berth for Europa League. After a tense and very long process, Wolves went home with the ticket. Meanwhile, West Ham, Watford, Leicester, and Everton had to settle for nothing.
Contrary to those performances, the quality this time around has fallen off the wagon by a mile. Both are winless at this point in the competition, and to be noted – Watford has been the worst without a doubt. They have lost both of their games and is yet to score a goal as well.
To complement the misery of their counterparts, West Ham boasts of having conceded the most number of goals this campaign.
With either struggling to find footing in the tournament, it’s important that they go full throttle this weekend. Despite this being the initial stages of the season, we could witness a fierce battle.
As an afterthought though, West Ham deserves some leeway, as they were pitted against Manchester City for their opener, which saw them losing 0-5.

- The former two clashes saw away wins.

Watford vs West Ham Prediction
Watford is going through a period of severe distress. They have lost their last six official match-ups in a row, and have registered just a single goal from their last five. Also, they have let in a total of 17 goals from these five fixtures.
On the other hand, West Ham has lost just thrice in their last 12 match-days, and two of these three losses were against none other than the current PL champion, Manchester City. In addition, they went unbeaten in their previous three road trips and won five of their last eight away ties as well.
Going on, the last face-to-face encounter between the squads ended in a 1-4 loss for Watford, and coincidentally, this game was played at this same venue.
As such, count on the guests to shake off the memories of their defeat against City, which probably shook them a bit, and bounce back this weekend. Also, the hosts, who are yet to score in this edition of the Premier League, and who has registered a combined scoreline of 1-17 from their last five games, will find it difficult to net a goal in the first 45 minutes.
