Watford vs Burnley: Preview and Predictions

Watford vs Burnley
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 7 April 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: Vicarage Road Stadium (Watford).

Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood have continued to terrorize defensive lines in the Premier League. This has probably been the best dup in the entire league over the last couple of weeks. They’ve inspired a pretty easy and straightforward 1-2 win over West Bromwich Albion away at The Hawthorns last Saturday.

It was the third win on the bounce for Clarets who are now just five points shy of Arsenal in sixth. Can they maintain the fantastic spell of form and snatch another victory when they travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford on Saturday? Sean Dyche’s men have been red-hot in the final third lately netting seven goals in these three wins over Everton, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion. Ashley Barnes has scored a goal in each of last four games. Chris Wood added four, but it last three outings.

This duo should have plenty of room to create in the final third and explore the obvious holes in Watford’s defensive line this weekend. The Hornets have shipped as many as ten goals in last three games which have seen them claim only a single point in the process. Things do look much better at home where Watford have won three on the trot before a disappointing 2-2 draw against AFC Bournemouth seven days ago.

Javi Gracia does not have such in-form likes in the final third, unlike his colleague on the other side. Even though Watford have generally been playing very well in front of the home crowd in this term of the Premier League, we don’t see them as favourites here.

Watford vs Burnley: Head-to-head

Burnley lead the head to head tie by six wins coming into their 34th meeting with Watford.

The Hornets have won seven and lost five of sixteen in front of the home fans, though.

Clarets picked up a narrow 1-0 win when the two sides met in this term of the Premier League at Turf Moor.

Watford vs Burnley: Prediction

The value is definitely with Burnley who are 1.66 not to lose the match at Vicarage Road Stadium.

We will alternatively go for the both teams to score option, knowing that Watford tend to play attractive attacking football on the home patch.
