RKC Waalwijk vs FC Twente: Prediction
The clash between two of the worst defenses in the Eredivisie brought us goals and the most interesting game in the last round, as RKC bravely lost to Fortuna 3-2 after taking the lead twice.
This made for their second defeat in a row, thirteenth of the season as Fred Grim’s side still sit dead last in the Eredivisie table, having managed only two wins and two draws from seventeen games. They’re now officially the worst defense of the league, as RKC has conceded 43 goals, putting 19 past the opposition.
To add salt to their wounds, Grim’s men also wear the title of worst home team in the Dutch topflight. Only four points won from eight fixtures, seven goals scored, fourteen conceded.
The Tukkers crashed out of the KNVB Cup after an embarrassing 5-2 defeat at home to an Eerste divisie opponents, Go Ahead Eagles.
The Reds are now on a five-game winless run in all competition. In the league, they’ve lost three of last four games they played but Gonzalo Garcia’s men still stay on the edges of relegation zone.
Currently 12th on the ladder, with a four-points cushion over endangered VVV, Garcia and his team will want to keep it that way as they travel to Waalwijk, eager to end their five-game winless streak away from home. On their road trips, they managed two wins, two draws and four defeats (9:15 GD).
Grim will be missing Darren Maatsen with a suspension and Stanley Elbers, who’s recovering from hamstring injury.
As for guests, Xandro Schenk joined long injured Matos García in the emergency room. Everyone else is fit and available.
Both teams to score is a good bet here, considering their h2h history and RKC’s home games where both sides got on a score sheet five out of last six times.
Also, I’d like to back RKC with Draw No Bet here. Twente are in shambles right now while our hosts show signs of improvement in their last three home games. They’ve beaten very good Heracles side, dropped points v Emmen with a 90th minute equalizer and lost in a similar manner v Heerenveen, having conceded two late goals.
