VPS vs TPS
Finland Veikkausliiga
Date: Wednesday, 4 July 2018
Kick-Off at 16:30 UK
Venue: Elisa Stadion (Vaasa)
VPS have been building on their mid-table spot recently and we’ve seen them connect a third win in their last four outings as they beat PS Kemi (0-1) on Saturday. They host TPS for their Matchday 18 clash on Wednesday afternoon hoping to outclass the bottom-of-the-table rivals and build on it further.
They have been a tough side to beat at Elisa Stadion recently and suffered only one loss in their last five home outings, which is bound to have them very motivated in the attacking third once again. They’ve netted four in a 4-1 win over Mariehamn in late June and Petri Vuorinen believes his men can keep up with the top 3.
However, TPS have picked it up recently and proven much more of a challenge defensively over the recent weeks, as Lahti (1-1), Inter Turku (1-1), RoPS (0-0) and Mariehamn (2-0 win) all failed to snatch three points. They have been conceding more goals on the road but great display at RoPS will surely have them very motivated to impress in Vaasa as well.
We have seen some very narrow head-to-head clashes between the sides recently, with just two goals scored in last four occasions.
VPS have bagged a narrow 0-1 win over the rivals at Veritas Stadion in early May.
The sides have shared the spoils in two consecutive draws beforehand, seeing out goalless draws.
We will now stick our necks out for TPS to put on another solid challenge and keep it together at the back, backing a Draw at 3.10. VPS have been very unpredictable at this ground and this could prove costly now as well.
We don’t believe we’ll see many goals here either and we will also back Under 2.5 goals FT at 1.66, which could prove the best approach to the game. Both sides have been tough to score against recently and we thus hope for another such low-scoring occasion on the day.
Draw @ 3.10
Under 2.5 goals FT @ 1.66
