Vitesse vs Feyenoord: Prediction
After fantastic start to the campaign, Vitesse lost for the fifth straight time in the Eredivisie as they blew a 2-0 lead in a 3-2 defeat at Heerenveen. Immediately after, Leonid Slutsky announced his departure from the troubled Arnhem side. He left them placed 7th after 15 games, recording 7 wins, 2 draws and 6 defeats, scoring 26 and conceding 24 goals in the process.
Last game played at GelreDome was 1-2 loss to Groningen, their second in a row. But overall, Vitas are alright in front of their own crowd. Four wins from seven games, one draw and two defeats. 14 goals scored, 10 conceded.
Feyenoord’s chances of progressing in the Europa League are all but over so it is expected that Advocaat’s men now focus solely on the league. Currently sitting at 7th, managing W-D-L record of 6-6-3 (27:25 GD) they must keep pushing if they want to get in Europa League next year.
Away from De Kuip, they’re doing fine, if unspectacular job. Nine points from seven games whilst suffering tough defeats in Amsterdam and Sittard, getting on scoresheet 11 times while conceding 13.
Vitesse have no new faces in the emergency room as Blackman, Gong, Tannane and Musonda are still out.
Feyenoord’s injury list keeps getting longer as Haps joined Bijlow, Karsdrop, Vermeer, Edgar Ie and van Beek.
My recommendation for this game is First Half goals: Over 1.5. Vitesse passed this mark in four of their last five home games. Feyenoord did the same on their travels.
Another one would be Feyenoord to score first. They did so in five of their seven league games and adding previous encounters into mix, this seems like a no-brainer.
Vitesse vs Feyenoord: Betting tips
First Half goals: Over 1.5 @ 2.20
Feyenoord to score first @ 1.72.
