Villarreal vs Valencia
Spanish La Liga
Date: Saturday, 21st January 2017
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Estadio de la Ceramica, Villarreal.
Valencia finally managed to find a breakthrough and pick up a precious victory beating Espanyol at Mestalla last Sunday by 2 – 1. The Bats thus escaped on a four-point distance to the red zone ahead of a very difficult away fixture at Estadio de la Ceramica, formerly known as El Madrigal.
Villarreal, on the other hand, will have a nice chance to end their negative streak in the 19th round of the competition because Valencia have been poor on the road since the very start of the season. This is the first easier fixture for the Yellow Submarines in the New Year and we do not doubt that Fran Escriba will know how to motivate his lads knowing that the Champions League spot is only three points away.
Voro still has a lot to do at the back because Valencia are the only team in the competition that failed to keep a clean sheet since the start of the season. We sincerely doubt that they will end the negative run against Villarreal who have a deadly line-up of attackers led by Nicola Sansone who scored seven goals so far in the season.
Villarreal vs Valencia: Head-to-Head Stats
Villarreal will have a decent opportunity to level the tie to 15 wins each in head to head clashes as the teams will meet each other for the 39th time in history. The Yellow Submarine was more successful winning both of the games from last season without a single goal conceded and we believe that they will keep up in the same rhythm this Saturday.
Villarreal vs Valencia: Prediction
We see a decent value in backing the home win at more than attractive 10/11 odds because the hosts are much stronger than Valencia at the moment. You can also go with Villarreal to score two or more at 1/1 odds.
