Vietnam vs Thailand
World Cup Qualification
Date: Tuesday, 19 November 2019
Kick-off at 13:00 UK / 14:00 CET

Vietnam are on red hot form at the moment, and the back to backs wins that they have been recording, certainly stand as a testament to it. With Thailand salvaging no more than a point in the reverse fixture as well, the visitors are likely to be given a run for their money when they lock horns with the table-toppers this Tuesday.

- Thailand have not registered a win against this foe in their past two meetings (D-1, L-1).
- Both teams have found the back of the net together in only one of their last five encounters.

Vietnam vs Thailand Prediction
Vietnam picked up their third consecutive victory in their most recent matchup against United Arab Emirates at home, with Nguyen Tien Linh scoring the only goal of the game. Park Hang-seo’s men are now the only side in Group G to remain unbeaten at the end of four matches.
At the moment, the hosts are sporting a solid three-point cushion over second-placed Thailand. On the other hand, the away side had their three-match unbeaten streak brought to an abrupt halt by Malaysia on the road last week. Despite taking an initial lead early on in that latter clash, their counterparts soon got the better of them and posted a 2-1 scorecard at the end of the ninety minutes.
It is also worth mentioning that Thailand are currently fifth based on the ranking of second-placed teams, which potentially means that the visitors will have to step up their game if they are to keep their hopes of progressing alive. Be that as it may, Thailand surely have their work cut out this week.
The hosts have been a tough team to beat, especially on home soil. They are now on a two-match winning streak here, with both of their wins coming with a clean sheet at hand. With Thailand’s only defeat so far coming in their last trip on the road as well, Vietnam are more than likely to be too hot to handle for the visiting contingent.
Furthermore, as previously mentioned, the home side have looked convincing at the back, and have conceded just once in their last four games. Taking into account that their last h2h meeting also featured fewer than 2.5 goals on the charts, it is certainly well within reason to expect goals to be scarce in this one.
