Hellas Verona vs Sampdoria: Prediction
With six points to their name, Hellas Verona are currently 14th in the standings. After two narrow defeats vs Milan and Juve, The Scaligers played out two stalemates against Udinese and Cagliari. Truth to be told, they were lucky to get a point at Sardegna Arena as Cagliari defender slipped and gifted them a goal.
Hellas Verona are hardly an attractive side to watch, but they’re getting points, and their full potential is still unknown due to couple of early baths and injury worries. This time around, manager Ivan Juric doesn’t have suspended players, but Bochetti, Badu, Bessa and Di Carmine are still out.
With one win and five losses so far, Sampdoria are still at the very bottom of Serie A. They have improved since formation shift, but not enough to handle reanimated Fiorentina side (1-2) and flawless Inter (1-3). The Blucerchiati will be hoping to bounce back this weekend and get much needed points on board before the international break.
Jeison Murillo is back in the squad after serving a one-match suspension, but Maroni, Ferrari and Seculin are still injured. Manolo Gabbiadini is questionable.
Hellas Verona are one of the most ‘underish’ teams of Serie A with an average of 1.50 goals on their games. They’re netting 0.67 goals per game and conceding 0.83. Both numbers are way below league’s average. They are yet to win a game at home this season (Bologna 1-1, Udinese 0-0 and Milan 0-1).
Underachieving Sampdoria have scored the same amount of goals as Saturday’s hosts, but they’re conceding much more – 2.67 per game on their travels. Last season’s Capocannoniere Fabio Quagliarella seems to be out of form with only one goal so far.
Five of six Hellas’ games this season had under 2.5 goals nad we’ve seen two draws at Marc’Antonio Bentegodi stadium already. H2H also supports those bets. Let’s go with that.
