Hellas Verona vs Fiorentina
2017/18 Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 10 September 2017
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi (Verona).
Fiorentina have had a poor start to the season, but that’s not shocking considering the fact that they’ve sold off many of their players. The concern for the Viola is could they follow in the same vein as Genoa, who also sold a few key players and struggled throughout the term?
The Tuscan outfit failed to make it into a European football spot last season and they’re highly unlikely to do so this term. They already have lost to Inter and Sampdoria and they will be really concerned heading into this match, despite the fact that Hellas Verona were featuring in Serie B last term.
That will give Hellas Verona some hope. Although the Gialloblu lost to Napoli, they put in a solid shift. They managed to nick a goal, despite losing 3-1 and can certainly use that to continue improving especially considering how Fiorentina have struggled to gain their footing.
Fiorentina have signed Giovanni Simeone from Genoa in an attempt to replace some of their lost firepower with both Federico Bernadeschi and Nikola Kalinic leaving for Juventus and AC Milan and the pressure will be on him to get up and running ASAP.
Verona managed to secure a point against Crotone after losing to Napoli and will hope to heap more misery on the struggling Tuscans. Can they pull off a repeat from their last meeting, which ended as a 1-1 draw back in March 2016?
