Velez Sarsfield vs Quilmes
Argentina – Primera Division
Date: Tuesday, 30th May 2017
Kick off at 01:15 UK/ 02:15 CET
Venue: Estadio Jose Amalfitani.
Neither Velez Sarsfield nor Qilmes can be especially thrilled with the campaigns they have had so far in the season in Primera Division.
The visitors are, however, in a worse situation as the poor streak of four consecutive losses sees them getting closer and closer to the foot of the standings.
Omar de Felippe can be happy to sit on Velez’s bench after a rather dismal season in the opening 25 rounds of the competition.
Velez did manage to interrupt the poor run by claiming an important home win over Tigre two weeks ago, but the team quickly returned to the old habits by losing the away fixture at Godoy Cruz with ease (3-0) on Sunday.
Hugo Mariano Pavone is the only bright side in the team. He has been enjoying a fantastic form lately as he notched three goals in last three league fixtures.
Christian Diaz would definitely want to have such a predator in the final third because his Quilmes could not find the back of the net in each of the last four games in all competitions.
The poor streak continued last weekend when the team lost 0-2 to Defensa y Justicia on the home patch.
Velez Sarsfield vs Quilmes: Head to head
It is interesting to note that only two out of 18 head to head encounters between the two sides ended in a draw.
Velez still lead the tie by a single win, but Quilmes have been much more successful in the recent history winning each of the last four matches with the team from Sarsfield.
Velez Sarsfield vs Quilmes: Prediction
We don’t expect to enjoy a high-scoring affair. The visiting side will most likely sit at the back and wait for their chances from the counter attacks.
There will be one or none goals to make the difference which is why the top betting option has to be Under 2.5 goals FT at 13/20.
