Joey - May 17, 2018

Valencia vs Deportivo La Coruna
Spanish La Liga
Date: Sunday, 20 May 2018
Kick-Off at 11:00 UK / 12:00 CET
Venue: Estadio de Mestalla, Valencia.

Valencia are one of the most pleasant surprised in this term of Primera Division. Marcelino has done an amazing job leading the team to the top-four finish after the Bats ended up consecutive domestic campaigns as low as 12th.

Valencia will play the Champions League football next term thanks to the magnificent form in the first half of the season when Los Che held the second place for quite some time before the slight drop which caused the fourth-place finish.

Nevertheless, Valencia managed to end the poor streak of five straight games without a win last time out when they saw off Girona 0-1 away at Estadi Municipal de Montilivi thanks to a goal from Luciano Vietto. It was team’s first goal after they failed to create up front against both Eibar and Villarreal in past two rounds. Marcelino and his troops will have a nice opportunity to finish the generally successful campaign on a high on Sunday morning when they host the already-relegated Deportivo La Coruna side.

Valencia vs Deportivo La Coruna: Head-to-head

Valencia lead the head to head tie by four wins coming into their landmark 50th encounter with Depor.

Valencia are undefeated in last six meetings with La Coruna (three draws and three wins).

Los Che notched five goals in last two victories over Depor, including the 43-0 thumping in the previous clash at Mestalla.

Valencia vs Deportivo La Coruna: Prediction

Deportivo enter the final day match with an 11-point deficit to the likes of Leganes at 17th place. They just lacked consistency throughout the campaign and Clarence Seedorf failed to bring an immediate impact and turn a corner for the La Coruna side when he took charge in February this year.

La Coruna have been very easy to break down of late shipping four goals in each of last two home ties against Barcelona and Villarreal. The visitors will hardly find the motivation to get the result at Mestalla knowing it will be their last march in the top flight.

Marcelino deserved a strong farewell from the home crowd after a very successful season and we can hardly see any other scenario but a comprehensive victory for the Bats here.
