Valencia vs Deportivo Alaves
Spain – La Liga
Date: Saturday, 17 March 2018
Kick-Off at 15:15 UK
Venue: Estadio de Mestalla (Valencia).
Valencia have done a massive job last weekend beating Sevilla 0-2 away at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to stay nine points clear off Los Rojiblancos in the battle for the top four finish. Marcelino is thus very close to secure the Champions League anthem at Mestalla next year and the crowd in Valencia will no doubts know how to appreciate the mentioned win and we can expect full stands on Saturday when Los Che host Deportivo Alaves in the second game of the day.
The crisis caused by the tough schedule looks to be well behind Valencia who have won five and drawn one of last six league matches coming into this fixture. It was Rodrigo Moreno who brought the three-pointer away at Sevilla by completing a brace and he will clearly be the main target in the final third here against Babazorros.
The visitors have seen somewhat of a slide in their form lately and they will travel to Mestalla off the back of consecutive losses to Real Sociedad and Real Betis. Abelardo has reasons to be worried about his team’s defensive displays of late since Babazorros have shipped five goals in these two losses. Given that Moreno has been enjoying a superb spell of form recently, it’s hard to expect big things from Alaves on this travel.
Valencia vs Deportivo Alaves: Head-to-head
Valencia have been entirely dominant in the history of matches with Alaves.
Los Che have won1 1 and lost only 3 of 17 meetings against Babazorros.
Interestingly, all of last five H2H meetings between these two rivals ended with the same scoreline (2-1).
Valencia vs Deportivo Alaves: Prediction
The hosts will come into this as massive form favourites and we do believe that Valencia to win is a banker bet at the odds of 1.40.
Alternatively, we will take in-form Rodrigo Moreno to score anytime for Marcelino’s side at the 1.90 odds.
