Valencia vs Celta Vigo Match Preview
Valencia upset the odds last week to pull off a stunning 2-0 win over the mighty Barcelona at home. The hosts were certainly much the better side in that latter matchup and would have added a third as well, had Ter Stegen not denied Maximiliano Gomez from the penalty spot.
As of now, the home team are unbeaten in their last three games across all competitions. Impressively, they have also stumbled just once in their past seven La Liga fixtures in the running, placing them seventh on the ladder behind Real Sociedad, albeit on goal difference.
On the other hand, things have not been going according to plan for Celta Vigo in their respective campaign. The visitors have not come out on top in any of their previous seven clashes in the top flight. Their most recent fixture with Eibar, in particular, saw them held to a third consecutive draw after both teams failed to find the back of the net.
With just eighteen points to their name, Celta Vigo are currently dwelling in the relegation zone and are just two points shy of hitting rock bottom as well.
Valencia vs Celta Vigo Prediction
Valencia are one of the only three sides, apart from Real Madrid and Barcelona, that have managed to avoid a defeat at home so far. Impressively, they have also come away with the win in six of their last eleven games here.
In sharp contrast, Celta Vigo have just one measly win to boast of on the road this season. To make matters worse for the traveling faithful, the guests have not emerged victoriously in any of their past three visits here.
Given the stellar run of form that Valencia are on, especially at home, Celta Vigo have absolutely no chance of salvaging even a point this week.
Nevertheless, count on the visitors to go down swinging. All but one of their previous five h2h meetings here have witnessed both teams get their names on the scoresheet.
In addition, Celta Vigo have not failed to find the back of the net in any of their last six LaLiga outings. As such, expect neither side to keep a clean sheet intact in this one.
