Two badly performing sides will be hoping to get some kind of respite as Udinese lock horns with Crotone on Sunday afternoon.
Last season saw Crotone pull off an impressive great escape to avoid the drop, and they come into this game having held Juventus to a very impressive draw midweek. They are still one point from safety, but given their penchant for suddenly springing to life, one can only wonder if they can make the same kind of turnaround in their sophomore season.
Crotone’s draw with Juventus certainly will have pleased Napoli, who will be locked in a top-of-the table battle with the Bianconeri also this weekend. Meanwhile, Crotone are not too far off 13th, with just six points, meaning that there are a whole crop of sides who could be dragged back down into the relegation zone between now and May.
Udinese may have ended Inter’s unbeaten streak by beating the Nerazzurri 3-1 at the Stadio San Siro, but that seems like a lifetime ago. The Zebrette have lost their last 10 games, which has seen them drop from possible Europa League contenders to now barely avoiding the drop.
It’s been a roller coaster ride for Zebrette fans. The start of the season was quite lousy, but then Massimo Oddo took over. Having the 2006 World Cup winner on the bench appears to help Udinese, but only for a short while, and once they started losing games, they simply can’t find their footing.
On top of that, Udinese shipped at least two goals in all of those games and that’s something Crotone will aim to exploit – especially following their impressive showing against Juventus.

This should be a great chance for Crotone to pick up some much needed points. Although they’ve lost eight of their last 10 away fixtures, Udinese’s awful losing streak means that the Squali should be able to pick up a result. They will be full of confidence after their strong showing against Juventus to earn a point – especially after falling 1-0 behind.
