Udinese vs Bologna: Prediction

Udinese, 18th in the league with win-draw-lose record of 1-1-3, are set to host Bologna at Friuli this Sunday. They will be hoping to end their 4-game winless streak. The Zebrette are struggling big time without Rodrigo De Paul.

The Argentine International was sent off against Inter Milan for slapping Candreva and received three-match ban. Udinese looked clueless and futile without him vs promoted pair, Brescia (0-1) and Hellas Verona (0-0). The club tried to get him back for this one, but their appeal was rejected. Ter Avest is out due to injury.

Bologna are doing just fine. With two wins, two draws and a loss, they’re sitting at 8th position in Serie A.

After losing their first game of the season vs Roma (1-2) last week, Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team played out a dull 0-0 draw against Genoa at Luigi Ferraris Stadium. The Veltri have shown proper fighting spirit and, at times, quality football, and they are listed as favourites in this one. Dijks and Danilo are injured for the guests.

With just two goals scored so far, Udinese are, hands down, the most unattractive team to watch this season. Igor Tudor’s men have failed to get on the scoresheet in last three Serie A fixtures. Their dreadful goalscoring record overshadows otherwise solid defensive numbers – they concede a goal per game.

Bologna have an average of 1.67 goals scored per game on the road, whilst allowing 1.33. Unlike Udinese, Bologna can rely on multiple players to create chances and score goals. Sansone, Soriano and Orsolini are projected to start behind Palacio in 4-2-3-1 formation. All of them have scored this season.

I have to back Bologna in DNB market here – the Zebrette are just awful these days. As an alternative bet, I’ll go with Under 2.5, which H2H firmly supports.
