Toulouse vs Montpellier French Ligue 1 Prediction by LeagueLane

Toulouse vs Montpellier
France – Ligue 1
Date: Saturday 27th October 2018
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Stadium Municipal (Toulouse).

Toulouse got off to a superb start for their new Ligue 1 campaign but it has suffered a setback in recent weeks and from being in the top six clubs they have now dropped to 9th position.

Toulouse have not won a game since the beginning of September and they have had a succession of draws, 3 from their last 5 games. Last weekend they were slaughtered 4-0 away to Nantes and at home they have gone their last 3 games without victory. They are clearly at this time a side in need of a win and a side in steady decline.

Montpellier like Lille are the real surprise package of this season. They are in 3rd place and just 3 points behind Lille and an automatic Champions League place although there is still a long time for that to be decided. Form is good with 11 points won from their last 15 and they have lost just once this season which was on the opening day.

Away from home Montpellier have the 2nd best record behind PSG and are unbeaten although their last two games did end in draws, with their latest one a disappointing 1-1 result against bottom side Guingamp.

Toulouse vs Montpellier: Head to Head

  • Last season Toulouse won this fixture 1-0.

  • The last 4 games at Toulouse have ended in under 1.5 goals.

Toulouse vs Montpellier: Prediction

Toulouse are the draw specialists and Montpellier have started drawing a few games on the road. This is why our main bet for this game will be to see at least a draw for the first half. We will hopefully see more goals in the 2nd period and we will also believe that Montpellier’s Gaeten Laborde who has scored recently can add to his tally and will back him to net anytime.

Toulouse vs Montpellier: Bet Tips

  • Highest scoring half: 2nd half at 1.91 (10/11).
  • Anytime goal scorer – Gaetan Laborde (Montpellier) at 3.25 (9/4).
