Tottenham vs Liverpool
UEFA Champions League Final
Date: Saturday, 1st June 2019
Kick-off at 20.00 UK/ 21.00 CET
Venue: Wanda Metropolitano (Madrid).
Whoever lifts the trophy this time, it’s going to be a great story. Such was the level of thrill provided by this competition this time around.
Importantly, it was the season of comebacks and upsets. And it’s fitting that both semifinals saw major turning around of fortunes in the second leg.
Liverpool ‘pulled a Barca’ over Barca itself. After losing the first leg 3-0, the Reds made a magnificent comeback at Anfield, with a 4-0 home win – one to remember for the ages. And after losing their neck-to-neck league race against Manchester City, Liverpool will be particular about seeing through their European dream.
By the time the halftime whistle had blown at Johan Cruijff Arena, in Amsterdam, even Spurs fans had switched off their TV sets. After losing their home leg, the team had gone down 0-3 on aggregate and had 45 minutes to script a comeback, against the spectacular and youthful Ajax side, at their own home.
But what happened next was just pure fairytale material. Lucas Moura raised to the occasion and fired three goals in a row, the third one coming in the 95th minute, to take his team to one step closer to continental glory.

Tottenham vs Liverpool Prediction
For their sheer will, and determination, shown all through the season, Liverpool deserves the trophy. Even more so, after their heartbreak at this very last stage, last year.
It has to be said that Liverpool has a more balanced and in-form team. Spurs, meanwhile, have some major injury concerns.
Confidence-wise, both teams are on equal level after their unbelievable comebacks in semifinals.
Coming to h2h ties, Liverpool takes the cake. They won both their league meetings this season, and nine of the last ten wins went to them as well. Going on, Spurs could return just a single clean sheet from 15 attempts and conceded two or more goals in five of their last six encounters.
Also, Tottenham has just two wins to their name in their last eight matches and lost five of them too. Liverpool, on the other hand, lost just once from their last 23 attempts and won 13 of their last 14 ties as well.
As such, expect the Reds to lift the trophy at the end of the day, and put an end to their barren run without a major achievement in quite some time.
Regarding goals, Liverpool does possess possibly the best defense in Europe right now, led by the spirited Van Dijk. But this is the Champions League Final, and Spurs have come a long way to just go without a fight.
Count on them to deliver the toughest fight of the season to Jurgen Klopp’s men. With just ninety minutes standing in front of their glory, the iron-willed Spurs will find a way to breach the Liverpool defense at least once.
Expect goals from both teams this weekend.
