Tottenham vs Juventus
International Club Friendlies
Date: Saturday, 5th August 2017
Kick-off at 17:30 UK / 18:30 CET
Venue: Wembley Stadium, London.
Premier League runner-ups welcome the Italian champions Juventus at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
The clash with Serie A champion will be Tottenham’s last preseason match before Premier League kicks off. So far, Mauricio Pochettino can’t be happy with his team’s performance. Tottenham faced three great European clubs in International Champions Tournament.
The Spurs faced Paris Saint Germain in the first match. They beat the Parisians with 2-4. However, the turmoil arose when they suffered two defeats by AS Roma and Manchester City.
The Italian side bested them 3-2 while Guardiola’s men pulled off a clean 3-0 victory. Despite the matches were friendly, conceding eight goals in three matches is severely unsettling for Pochettino.
The Bianconeri will also play their last friendly match ahead of the season start. However, before opening Serie A, they will face Lazio in Italy Super Cup.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men also participated in International Champions Tournament. In their first match, Juve were beaten by Barcelona with 1-2. However, they also managed to beat Paris SG, followed by a victory over AS Roma on penalties.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Juventus: Head-to-head
The two sides met last year in the aforementioned Champions Tournament. Back then, Juventus triumphed with 2-1.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Juventus: Prediction
Both sides will test their optimal squads in the clash at Wembley. The seats are expected to be full since the Spurs will play their upcoming season at this venue. It’s the different stadium from White Hart Lane – Wembley is a lot wider and Kane & Co. will need some time to adapt to the new home turf.
Allegri will take this match very seriously, without a doubt, but Juve’s fans are eager to see more Costa and Bernardeschi in action. With the two giants of football colliding, the goals are inevitable.
