Tottenham vs Chelsea Prediction
Tottenham extended their winning streak to two games on the trot last week after they did just enough to pick up a 2-1 win against Wolves on the road. The hosts seemed to be in line for no more than a share of the spoils in that latter matchup after Adama Traore canceled Lucas Moura’s opener.
However, a super late winner, courtesy of Jan Vertonghen, ensured that all three points went in favor of Spurs.
With twenty-six points in the bag, the home side have found themselves back in the top five.
On the other hand, Chelsea have been hit by a sharp decline in form. Their previous clash at home saw them lose to Bournemouth by a 1-0 scorecard, prior to which Everton breezed past them on the road with a 3-1 scoreline.
It is also worth mentioning that the visitors are currently winless in their last three outings. That too, in all competitions. To make matters worse, Chelsea have been at the losing end in their last two meetings with this foe on the road.
In sharp contrast, Tottenham have not admitted defeat at home, in the Premier League, since late August. Taking into account the convincing run of form that the hosts are on, Chelsea’s chances of pulling off a win are certainly looking bleak.
However, Spurs have been held to a draw, twice on home soil this season. Given that the Blues are also desperate to end their dismal losing streak, the safest punt in this one would have to be a double chance.
Furthermore, the hosts have kept a clean sheet just once in their last five games on home soil. They have also gone on to concede seven goals from their past nine fixtures here as well.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have been a real threat in the attacking third, especially on the road. They have found the back of the net twenty times so far, and have not failed to get their names on the scoresheet since their opening away game against the Red Devils.
As such, expect both teams to have their scoring boots on come Sunday.
