Mauricio Pochettino thinks Tottenham now face a big challenge than ever in their title bid after a 1-1 draw against West Brom on Monday at White Hart Lane.
A 13 minutes own goal by West Brom defender Craig Dawson gave Spurs the lead but Craig Dawson answered himself for the Baggies on 73 minutes to hand them a point.
Spurs second placed separate them with seven points below leaders Leicester City.
And with just three matches to the season’s end, Tottenham could blow the title hopes away if Leicester grab win next weekend.
Tottenham went into the game with the hopes of closing tabs on the Foxes for the title but with a disappointing draw, Pochettino wants his side to keep pushing with the remaining matches.
“We need to still be fighting and believe that we can win it.
“We are strong in our mind. It is true now that the players will be disappointed but that is football and we need to recover quick.”
“It is seven points the gap three games to play and nine points. It is true that it is difficult but in football, it can happen.
“We need to change this feeling because now we are all disappointed, but we need to still be fighting for the next three games.
Tottenham dominance in the was huge but unable to count in goals and Pochettino is unhappy with his side’s failure to score.
“I’m very disappointed. We deserved to be three or four nil up and unluckily for us, we were not clinical in the box,” he said.
“In the second half, I think that we allowed them to have some chances. It was a little bit more open the game and we conceded a goal from a set piece.
“It is a skill from them. I think it was a very tough game. They compete very well but we deserved more. At 1-1, it was difficult to carry on but we need belief.”
