Kukesi vs Torpedo Kutaisi Analysis for Prediction

The Georgians were favorites to qualify from this tie and they are in stunning form this season having netted 12 goals from three qualifying games. They thrashed Vikingur from Faroe Island in the previous round of the competition on 7-0 aggregate. Interesting enough, that Torpedo were without a win in 12 Europa League games prior to this season, drew 2 and lost 10.

Kukesi reached Europa League third qualifying round after failing in the Champions League qualifiers, they haven’t won any of the four games during the period, however took a big scalp by holding Valetta to a stalemate on edge them out on goal-aggregate.

To summarize, Torpedo are the team on form here since they already displayed their ability to blow away opponents. On the other hand, Kukesi are a side in tatters with their last win in either friendly or competitive game dating back to May.

Kukesi vs Torpedo Kutaisi Preview

Torpedo Kutaisi demolished Faroese Vikingur 7-0 on aggregate to set up the third qualifying round meeting with Albanian champions Kukesi.

The head coach Kakhaber Chkhetiani can generally be pleased with his troops’ efforts so far in European competitions as the Georgian champions also caused troubles for Moldovan Sheriff in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, beating them 2-1 at home before falling 3-0 in the return fixture.

The fact Torpedo scored seven goals in two games with Vikingur just shows the strong resistance against Sheriff was not an accident or a lucky day.

The story is different with Kukesi who have disappointed in their UCL journey. They first barely went past Maltese Valletta beating them only thanks to the away goal rule (1-1 on aggregate). Overall, Kukesi bagged no more than one goal in four Champions League ties.
