Torino vs Juventus
2017/18 Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 18 February 2018
Kick-Off: 11:30 UK,
Venue: Stadio Olimpico (Turin).
The Derby della Mole will be the first game of Sunday’s Serie A action and Juventus will be keen on rebounding from their disappointing result in the Champions League as they take on Torino.
After a rough start, the Granata are hoping to make a late push for the Europa League, whilst the Bianconeri are obviously hoping to make not a run for the Scudetto, but the Treble as well. Torino are just two points away from a top seven spot heading into this derby meeting, but they have a lousy record against their cross-town neighbors. In fact, they have won just one of their last 23 meetings with Juventus, losing 17 and drawing five, with their last win taking place in April 2015.
Juventus come into this game having thrown away a 2-0 lead against Tottenham to barely hang on for a 2-2 draw. Massimiliano Allegri will be furious with the way his side capitulated to Spurs, as now their chances of making it to the next stage hang in the balance. That also saw their impressive run of clean sheets come to an abrupt end and will be truly worrying, as Juve don’t have the best track record when it comes to taking on English sides in England. However, with the next leg not until next month, La Vecchia Signora have to turn their attention back to domestic affairs and trying to overtake Napoli in the race for the Scudetto.
It’s apparent the Partenopei aren’t focusing one bit on anything else but the Scudetto this term, but Juve come into this game having won eight on the trot and will certainly aim to continue their strong run against Torino. Can they rebound after a disappointing performance midweek, though?

Torino vs Juventus: Prediction
Despite capitulating to Tottenham, Juventus are on an excellent run domestically. They have won eight in a row in Serie A, and have conceded just one goal during that time. Away, they have also been quite excellent, with ten wins out of 12 on the road, and although they’re taking on Torino who are unbeaten in their last even, the Granata have drawn four out of those games. Furthermore, Gonzalo Higuain, despite missing a great chance to score a hat-trick against Spurs, has been in great form overall, so expect him to add to his tally and help Juve to earn a win to keep up the pressure on Napoli.
