Torino vs Inter Milan
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 8 April 2018
Kick-Off: 11:30 UK,
Venue: Stadio Olimpico (Turin).
A change in formation has helped Torino as of late, as they’ve won two on the spin by an aggregate score-line of 8-1. The Granata come into this game having cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win over Crotone, with Andrea Belotti grabbing a hat-trick. They’ll be looking to keep up this strong form when Inter come to town, but will they be able to overcome a Nerazzurri side who they haven’t beaten in over two decades at the Stadio Olimpico?
After losing three in a row, including a shock 2-1 reversal against relegation candidates Hellas Verona, Walter Mazzarri’s side have seemingly sprung to life, as they strolled to a 4-0 win against Cagliari before pummeling Crotone 4-1. Whilst they are a long-shot to qualify for Europe, they are not out of the running just yet. A victory against Inter would definitely push them closer towards catching the likes of Atalanta, Sampdoria, and Fiorentina in the race for a top seven finish.
Meanwhile, Inter, who sit just one point behind third placed Roma and two ahead of Lazio, are still locked in a tough battle for a Champions League berth. With the Giallorossi effectively out of the Champions League, one can certainly expect them to throw all their resources into securing a top-four spot going forward, and that is something the Nerazzurri will obviously have to keep in mind between now and the end of the current campaign.
Inter come into this game having held AC Milan to a draw in this week’s Derby della Madonnina, which marks a fifth straight game sans conceding a goal for Luciano Spalletti’s side. Although Torino have a frustrating record against Inter, with just two wins in their last 27 meetings, they did notably draw this same fixture 2-2 last term. Will this game be a potential stumbling block for the visitors?

Torino vs Inter Milan: Prediction
Torino come into this game having won two on the spin, but they have won just two of their last 27 Serie A games against Inter. In addition, the Granata haven’t beaten the Nerazzurri since February 1994 at their home ground. Still, with Torino seemingly having hit form yet again, and Andrea Belotti getting involved again, they could cause Inter some problems. Nonetheless, the fact that Inter have gone unbeaten in their last five and managed shutouts over that course of time shouldn’t be discounted, and they are still nonetheless the favorites to at least pick up a point here.
