Torino vs Crotone
2016/17 Italian Serie A.
Date: Saturday, 15 April 2017
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK / 15:00 CET,
Venue: Stadio Olimpico (Turin).
Fresh off a shock 2-1 win over Inter, debutants Crotone will hope to pull off another upset as they travel to take on Torino on Saturday.
The Squali have won back to back games for the first time in their nascent history, and thanks to Empoli’s poor form, now have a glimmer of hope at surviving the drop. Not too long ago, it appeared impossible, but now Davide Nicola’s side have belief again. Thanks to victories against the Nerazzurri and Chievo, Crotone are now closer to 17th-placed Empoli than they are to fellow relegation candidate Palermo.
A once comfortable margin for the Azzurri has now been cut to just three, and they could actually find themselves now sucked back into the relegation fight by the time this round end.
Meanwhile, Torino come into this game having beaten Cagliari. That result ended a two-game winless streak for the Granata, but it was far from a comfortable result, as a late goal from the Rossoblu provided a few nervy moments for the visitors, who hung on to win 3-2.
With 59 goals, Torino are among the highest-scoring sides in the league. Spearheaded by the young striker Andrea Belotti, they have played some exciting football. However, they have also conceded 52 goals, indicating that their all-out attacking approach leaves them quite exposed at the back, and in fact, has cost them dearly in the race for a European football spot.
That ship has long sailed, and so the hosts are merely looking just to finish out the season, but Crotone will be desperate to keep the good times rolling as they hope to pull off a great escape (a la Sassuolo back during the 2013/2014 campaign).

Torino vs Crotone: Prediction
Goals, goals, goals. That appears to be the forecast for this game. Torino have no problems scoring, but keeping their opponents off the score-sheet is a major issue that have dogged them all season. Despite bringing in English shot-stopper Joe Hart, the Manchester City man has had his fair share of difficulties both due to his defenders and due to some rather embarrassing blunders.
This is something Crotone can exploit as the Squali are on a roll. Having beaten Inter will have their confidence sky-high and given Torino’s defensive problems, the debutants could end up picking up at least a point here.
