Torino vs Chievo
2016/17 Italian Serie A.
Date: Saturday, 26 November 2016
Kick-Off: 17:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio Olimpico (Turin).
Torino will hope to continue working their way up the table as they take on a struggling Chievo on Saturday afternoon.
The Granata come into this game having earned a 2-0 win over debutants Crotone. Interestingly enough, they had to work a lot harder than anticipated. Their hosting opponents predictably dug in and tried to hold out for a 0-0 draw, much to the frustration of the visitors. However, a brace from the in-form Andrea Belotti late in the second half was enough to dispatch the Squali and give Torino all three points.
Belotti’s brace brings him to an impressive ten goals so far, and his manager will hope he can maintain this same red-hot form as they take on Chievo. Meanwhile, Joe Hart recorded a confidence-boosting clean sheet and will be keen on making that a second consecutive one in front of the home fans.
As Torino continue to plug away quietly, Chievo have been in free-fall. At one point, Rolando Maran’s side were being touted for a Europa League spot. Then, they suffered a crushing 3-1 home loss to Milan on October 16th. The Flying Donkeys pride themselves on their strong home form and the defeat certainly knocked the wind out of their sails.
But since then, they have failed to recover. Along the way, they ended up with the dubious honor of losing to Crotone. Chievo, to date, are the only side not to get at least a point from the Squali, and more embarrassing, failed to find the back of the net against the Serie A debutants.
They could face a tough task as they take on a Torino side slowly growing in confidence and who are looking to string together a series of good results to move closer to a Europa League berth.

Torino vs Chievo: Prediction
Torino are still trying to find some consistency, but the Granata are in a much better place than Chievo right now. The Flying Donkeys are not only winless in their past five games, but are also on a two-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Torino have lost just one out of their last five games and will be encouraged by their hard-fought 2-0 win over a stubbornly defensive Crotone side.
The Granata, with 29 goals, are the second-highest scoring side in the division. As such, they will be expected to score here. All in all, with players like Belotti in good form, the hosts will prove to be too much for a visiting Chievo side who appear to have lost their way.
