Switzerland vs England
UEFA Nations League (Third/Fourth-place Playoffs)
Date: Sunday, 9th June 2019
Kick-off at 14.00 UK/ 15.00 CET
Venue: Estádio D. Afonso Henriques (Guimarães).
England seems to be the perennial losers in football empire. After promising starts to their campaigns, they always bottle it right at the end. Their story was the same in the World Cup as well.
In the semis, Marcus Rashford fired the English into the lead with a 32nd-minute penalty and defended hard against the Dutch attacks. It almost looked as if England might be booking their tickets in the final, but in the 72nd minute, new sensation Mathijs de Ligt played spoilsport.
The equalizer gave momentum to the Netherlands, which was reflected in the extra time. The Dutch added a goal apiece in both of the halves of the extra 30 minutes to take them to the final of the maiden UEFA Nations League.
Ever the destroyer Cristiano Ronaldo annihilated Swiss hopes of glory with a sensational hat-trick. A beautiful free kick in the 25th minute was followed by two goals in two minutes right at the end of the tie, to take the Portugal team to the final. The new kid in the block, Joao Felix, paled in comparison to the star next to him – both of whom were the main attacking threats for the current Euro champions.

Switzerland vs England Prediction
England might be a bit down after their loss in the semifinals, but they will be up for the challenge come Sunday, against Switzerland.
Despite the great performances the Swiss men presented in the group stages, they look like the odd one out in the final four of this tournament. England will amply take advantage of this apparent inexperience of their counterparts.
Moreover, England has dominated this team throughout its h2h history. They registered the last six such wins in a row and did not even concede a goal in the last three such matches. In fact, the only win posted by Switzerland against the English came almost four decades back.
Going on, England has never failed to score against the Swiss and managed two or more goals in six of the last seven meetings. Finally, away from home, England has recorded two goals or more in every encounter bar once.
By all means, expect the English to take third place in the Nations League.
