Sweden vs Denmark
International Friendlies
Date: Saturday, 2 June 2018
Kick-Off at 18:45 UK / 19:45 CET
Venue: Friends Arena, Solna.
Sweden will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats in March on Saturday when they host their fellow Scandinavian World Cup contestants Denmark in a warm-up friendly ahead of the appearance at the biggest stage.
The road to Russia was by no means an easy one for each of these two sides. Both Sweden and Denmark had to fight their way in the European zone through the play-offs. Both teams were almost equally impressive there, Sweden in terms of defense and Denmark in the attack.
The head coach Janne Andersson does not had a true star in his ranks, but he managed to find the winning formula and instill a huge confidence into his players who kept their net untouched in the 90 minutes of play against Italy in the play-offs. Denmark, on the other side, bagged five goals in the reverse fixture of their play-off tie against the Republic of Ireland at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, inspired by the phenomenal Christian Eriksen who completed a hat-trick back then.
Sweden vs Denmark: Head-to-head
The Scandinavian rivals met reach other on as many as 107 occasions so far.
Sweden were slightly more successful as they lead the head to head tie by eight wins.
The team met each other at the start of the year in NON-FIFA friendly when Blagult took a narrow 1-0 victory on the home soil.
Sweden came on top 4-3 on aggregate when these two rivals met in the play-offs for EURO 2016.
Sweden vs Denmark: Predictions
Denmark will head into this in higher spirits after keeping their net untouched in March friendlies against Panama and Chile. Knowing that Sweden are generally quite limited in the final third, we’d not be surprised to see the Danes keeping the third consecutive clean sheet here. You can back the pick at the sky-high 3-25 odds.
We can hardly see the visitors losing this one as they do look to have more quality in their ranks. The 1.55 odds offered for the away win or draw double chance definitely look tempting, just as 2.90 given for Denmark’s win in Solna.
Sweden vs Denmark: Betting Tips
- Denmark to keep a clean sheet @ 3.25
- Denmark or Draw Double Chance @ 1.55.
