Strasbourg vs Monaco
France Ligue 1
Date: Saturday, 20th October 2018
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Stade de la Meinau (Strasbourg).

The two Thierry’s will go head to head in this game- Strasbourg coach Thierry Laurey and new Monaco coach Thierry Henry, in what should be a very fascinating game.

Strasbourg have double the points of Monaco and are in 9th place, draws have stopped them progressing but at the same time they have just one loss in their last five games coming into this match.

At home they started off slow but have now won their last 2 games scoring 6 goals in the process after wins against Amiens and Dijon.

Monaco have had a terrible start to the season and they are in the bottom three as a consequence. They have sacked long term coach Leonardo Jardim and his replacement has made massive news. The one and only French and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry. This will be Henry’s first managerial job after being an assistant with Belgium at this summers World Cup.

All eyes around Europe will be on this Saturday evening game to see if Henry can get off to a winning start. He will need all the luck he can get as Monaco have not won a game for over 2 months.

  • Last season Monaco won this fixture 3-1.
  • Strasbourg have not beaten Monaco at home in over 15 years.

  • Monaco have scored 11 goals against Strasbourg in the last four games.

Strasbourg vs Monaco: Prediction

This will be a difficult game for Henry to win on his debut and could well end in a draw but we will take the game to be a draw at half time as our main bet.

The Monaco players will feel happy that there has been a fresh change at the club and will play to their strengths but we could see a very timid start for both teams.

However as the game goes on we expect some goals, in what should be a very close game.
