Stoke City vs Everton
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 17 March 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: Bet365 Stadium (Stoke-on-Trent).
The Potters have been sliding down the Premier League ladder at an alarming rate lately and they will head into weekend’s clash with Everton from the danger area. Paul Lambert has failed to shift team’s fortunes around since taking over long-term manager Mark Hughes. The Scotsman will have a very tough task to keep Stoke City in the elite and team’s destiny could well depend on the outcome of this clash with Everton.
Stoke City will hardly get points on board in the next couple of weeks since they are to play North London sides Tottenham and Arsenal in next two rounds meaning that the success against the Toffees is crucial. Scoring goals has been the main challenge for Lambert’s side of late since the Potters have failed to do so in last two games against Southampton and Manchester City. There are, however, improvements in the defensive line which has allowed two goals in only one of last four matches (to Man City).
Everton have been playing hot and cold throughout the entire season, but they generally tend to play much better in front of the home crowd. Away from Goodison, the Toffees have a horrendous record of six straight losses in all competitions and they will be hoping to arrest such streak just against the relegation strugglers this weekend. Sam Allardyce will be encouraged with the form of January’s acquisition Cenk Tosun who has found the back of the net in last two games for Everton.
